Taliban fire rockets at Karzai's meeting site

Kabul, June 10: Taliban guerrillas fired rockets at a compound where Afghan President Hamid Karzai was attending a meeting today, a Taliban spokesman said.

A government official confirmed the firing of rockets, but said the president and his entourage were fine.

It was not clear if there were any casualties from the attack in Andar district of Ghazni province to the southwest of Kabul.

Washington, July 18: Afghanistan President Hamid Karzai will visit US President George W Bush at Camp David on August 5 and 6, White House sources said yesterday. The two leaders will review their work to enhance democracy, prosperity, and security in Afghanistan as agreed in the Joint Declaration of Strategic Partnership of May 23, 2005. They will also discuss the progress in implementing Afghanistan's national development strategy and the steps to improve governance.....
