JK: Graves of early Muslim period discovered

Srinagar, June 10: Three graves dating back to 1400 AD have beenrecently discovered in a downtown locality of Srinagar city.

The Jammu and Kashmir Archives and Archaeology Department hasstarted the research on the stones of medieval graves accidentallydiscovered near a shrine at Shah Kadal, Kanimazar here on June 3.

The three graves in black and white granite date back to 1400 AD, the beginning of Muslim period in Kashmir.

Senior officials of the department said the graves might be of the era of Sultan Sikandar.

One of the graves was believed to be of a woman. The two graves had black stones while the upper portion had white stones.

India, Pak Auditors General discuss cooperation

New Delhi, Mar 13: India and Pakistan today agreed to strengthen cooperation between the Supreme Audit Institutions (SAI) of the two countries in areas of public audit and accounts. Pakistan's Auditor General Mohammed Yunis Khan, currently on a five-day visit o India, met Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) Vijayendra Kaul and discussed with him ways to strengthen cooperation between the SAIs of the two countries. Mr Khan who arrived here yesterday, also met senior officials.....
