Two elephants entered Raniganj from Dalma range

Asansol, June 8 (UNI) Two elephants of Dalma hill range had been seen roaming in the Raniganj locality.

Forest officials yesterday said that the elephants entered the village after crossing the Damodar river, near Andal of Burdwan district.

Forest personnel tried to take them back towards the Dalma range via Bankura district.

However, the elephants did not cause any harm to anyone, an official of Asansol forest range said here today.

Terrorist killed, another arrested in Mumbai

Mumbai, Aug 22: One terrorist was killed in an encounter and another successfully nabbed early this morning by the Anti Terrorist Squad (ATS), which is investigating the July 11 serial bomb blasts on the Mumbai transit system. Police identified the two as Mohammed Ali and Mohammed Riyaz, both Pakistani nationals. While Ali was killed, his associate Riyaz was held. ATS sources said acting on a tip-off, an ATS team, headed by Police Inspector Sunil Deshmukh, laid a trap.....
