Dumka, Jun 8: Former Coal Minister Sibu Soren, serving life imprisonment for murdering his private assistant Shashinath Jha, was produced at a local court here in connection with violation of the model code of conduct.
Seven persons, including Mr Soren, the president of Jharkhand Mukti Morcha, were accused of violating the model code of conduct during the last Lok Sabha polls.
The allegation was that the poster of Soren's party did not display the name of the press and its phone number.
Mr Soren, now lodged in Dumka Central Jail, was brought to the court amid tight security.
