'Rights of Indian spies in Pak jails violated'

Rajkot, June 8: An international human rights activist has complained of human rights violations of Indian spies who are languishing in Pakistan jails due to gross negligence by the Indian government.

Advocate M K Paul, in his complaint to the chairman and members of National Human Right Commission (NHRC), has stated that various human rights like right to life, right to liberty, right to live with dignity distriputed of Indian spies have been violated.

He also delivered the copies of complaint to the press and in his complaint against Ministry of Defence and Ministry of Home Affairs, in which he alleged that 16 Indian spies languishing in Pakistan jails, said no efforts were made for their release by the Indian government.

"The spies, who were sent by the RAW, an Intelligence wing of India to Pakistan, were arrested in Pakistan and three of them --Kashmir Singh, Sarabjit Singh and Kirpal Singh -- were served death sentence while serving jail sentence varying from three years to 25 years," he said.

''It is very shocking and shameful that dependent family members, old fathers, mothers are not paid a single rupee by the RAW or by the Union Government,'' Adv Paul said, adding that secret fund for the purpose are misused.

He has requested the commission to admit this complaint and look into the seriousness of the subject and dealt on a top priority basis.
