Man preserves brother's body for 2 months to resurrect it

Coimbatore, June 8 (UNI) In a bizzare incident, a man preserved the mortal remains of his brother for two months, believing that prayers would bring back the corpse to 'life'.

Police said the incident came to light on Wednesday at Papanaickanpalayam on the city outskirts when one Ms Anuradha, hailing from Thuvarakurichy in Thiruchirapally district, lodged a complaint with the police that her husband went missing for the last two months from his brother Charles' house.

Deceased Selvakumar (38) was living with Charles, a religious preacher. Selvakumar allegedly committed suicide on April 5.

Believing in the 'resurrection' of the dead, Charles locked the mortal remains in the kitchen and prayed, along with his family and neighbours.

Acting on the complaint, police broke open the house and recovered the body.

WB: Shooter Sheuli Sadhukhan's coach arrested

Kolkata, Mar 8: A former coach of national shooter Sheuli Sadhukhan, who was shot at by some assailants at Srerampore in neighbouring Howrah district yesterday, was today arrested on charges of involvement in the incident.Police said Swapan Sanyal was taken into custody from his house, also at Srerampore, early this morning on charges of attempt to murder on the basis of an FIR lodged by Sheuli's father.They further said that the former coach was suspected to be involved in the shooting.....
