JK: JE killed, 5 workers injured in Doda landmine blast

Jammu, June 8: A Junior Engineer (JE) of Roads and Building Department was killed and five others injured in a landmine blast, while working on a road widening project in Kishtwar area of Doda district last evening, sources today said.

JE Ikhlaq Ahmed was killed when a landmine which could not be triggered properly, suddenly exploded at Donadhi Khara, about 240 km from here, sources said.

The injured labourers, identified as Mohammd Sadiq of Thatri, Niaz Ahmed of Doda, Gulzar Ahmed of Darabshalla, Sadiq Hussain of Kishtwar and Kamal Kishore of Himachal Pradesh were immediately shifted to Doda district hospital, the sources added.
