Bhagwati Banquets eyes revenue from Surat proj

New Delhi, June 8: Bhagwati Banquets and Hotels Ltd today said it expected an additional revenue of Rs 50 crore from the first year of operations at its hotel project in Surat with operational profit of Rs 15 crore.

''The construction for the 100-room five star Hotel and Convention project is on,'' it said in a statement.

The company plans to put up five star hotels and convention centres across the country, starting with tier-II and tier-III cities.

It also owns and manages a 37-room three-star category Banquet Hotel 'The Grand Bhagwati' at Ahmedabad.

President dedicates Insat 4B to the nation

Hassan (Karnataka), June 8: President A P J Abdul Kalam today dedicated to the nation the country's latest communication satellite, INSAT 4B to the nation at Master Control Facility (MCF) of the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO), in the outskirts of the City. INSAT 4B was launched on March 12 from Kourou in French Guyana by the Ariane-5 spacecraft. The satellite, which has become fully operational, has 24 transponders, including 12 in Ku-band.....

Advocate files PIL seeking to declare Sec 19 of PCA unconstitutional

New Delhi, June 8 (UNI) An advocate has filed a PIL in the Supreme Court challenging the constitutional validity of section 19 of the Prevention of Corruption Act (PCA), 1988 seeking to declare it unconstititional on the grounds that no sanction is required for the prosecution of public servants, politicians and bureaucrats facing charges of corruption.
