The seminar on wind energy will be jointly organised by GCCI, Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA), New Delhi and Malavia Energy Consultancy (MEC), Pune and it will be inaugurated by Gujarat Energy Minister Saurabhbhai Patel.
GCCI has taken the initiative since Gujarat is a leader in wind energy investments and a favourable destination for wind energy development with its largest coastline in the country.
The seminar will debate on issues that need urgent attention like resumption of banking of wind electricity generated, withdrawal of cross subsidy on third party sale and review of tariff like Maharashtra Model. Over and above it is also aimed to understand how best a wind farm developer can benefit from carbon credits. In the technical session of the Seminar, manufacturers of windmills, IREDA and Eco Security, UK will make presentations.
