M M Hills (Karnataka), Jun 5: Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy today said that the poll outcome in the byelection to Ullal Assembly seat against the coalition partners Janata Dal (Secular) and BJP would not have any adverse impact on the stability of the government.

Reacting to the victory of Congress candidate in the June two election, counting of which was held today, Mr Kumaraswamy said that Congress has managed to retain the seat and it should not be construed as the impact of anti-incumbency factor. "The coalition government would continue to complete its tenure and the result of the bypoll would not have any impact on its stability" he added.

He said that the Congress, which fielded Mr U T Khader, son of the deceased sitting member and rode the wave of sympathy votes.

"One should not give any significance to the verdict of the bypoll" Mr Kumaraswamy said.

Replying to a question, Mr Kumaraswamy said that the result of the Ullal bypoll can not be compared with the verdict of the Chamudeshwari byelection held in October last, in which the Congress candidate former deputy chief minister just managed to scrap through and won it.
