We have psychological advantage heading for Dhaka: Bashar

Chittagong, May 22 (UNI) Bangladesh skipper Habibul Bashar says his boys will have a psychological advantage going into the second Test in Dhaka having come back strongly after the first innings in the first Test against India.

Talking to the media after the drawn Test here today, he said, ''After being eight down for 148, we reached 238 and then bowled really well. This will give us a little edge mentally.'' ''We are playing Tests after a long time. It was a little difficult to adjust and contain them in the first innings. But, we didn't play very badly and let them dominate totally ''In the second innings, we batted well and the bowlers took some good wickets,'' said Bashar.

Bashar was not surprised at the timing of Rahul Dravid's declaration in the visitior's second innings. ''The game was already dead. The only way to bring back some life into the match was an early declaration. If I was in place of Rahul I may have decleared too.'' Did he play for a draw? ''It's not easy to chase 250 in the second innings of a Test match. The idea was not to lose too many early wickets.'' On his own form, Bashar said, ''I think I batted well in the second innings. In the second, I needed to get a start. I got it and am happy to have got some useful runs.'' UNI
