University of Mysore Deptt of Library Sciences Reader arrested

Mysore, May 22 (UNI) University of Mysore Department of Library Sciences Reader Dr Y Venkatesh was arrested today by Women police on the charges of alleged dowry harassment filed by his wife.

Police said that Dr Venkatesh, son-in-law of former University of Mysore Vice Chancellor Dr Y P Rudrappa, was arrested at his residence on a complaint by his wife Dr Sudha who alleged that he was demanding her to bring more dowry and was harassing.

Dr Sudha said that she was married to Dr Venkatesh 13 years back and he was given Rs One lakh cash and jewelry as dowry. However, not he was forcing her to bring more money and harassing her.

Dr Venkatesh, who was produced before a City Court, was however, released on bail.

Asia's largest iron ore deposit discovered in China

New Delhi, June 25 (ANI): Geologists have discovered 'Asia's largest' iron ore deposit in northeast China's Liaoning province, with an estimated reserve of more than 3 billion tons.The newly-found deposit, mainly between 1,200 meters and 1,860 meters underground and spanning a four-km-long, three-km-wide area, is at the Qiaotou Township, Pingshan District, Benxi city, according to Yu Wenli, head of the Liaoning Provincial Bureau of Geology and Mineral Resources Exploration."We found high-grade iron ore even at a depth of 2,015.....
