Sugar prices ease on poor buying support

Mumbai, May 22 (UNI) Sugar prices eased on poor buying support, traders at the Bombay Sugar Merchant's Association said today.

Sugar in small grade drifted lower by Re one per quintal on lack of demand, while medium grades remained steady on moderate demand.

Sugar in ex-mill small and medium grades came down by Rs 25 and Rs five per quintal respectively amid sustained heavy selling pressure by stockists.

Following are the spot wholesale rates per quintal: Small grade Rs 1,307/1,340, Medium grade Rs 1,340/1,390, Ex-mill: Small grade Rs 1,270/1,295, Medium grade Rs 1,320/1,350.
