Sikh community protest to demand arrest of Dera chief

Kanpur, May 22 (UNI) Demanding the arrest of Sirsa based Dera Sacha Sauda head Gurmeet Ram Raheem Singh, the Shri Guru Singh Sabha of the city today protested his 'anti-sikh activities'.

The furore followed after Ram Raheem posed as the tenth Sikh Guru Gobind Singh, a few days ago.

The Sikh community took to streets by tying black ribbons and staged a 'dharna' at Gumti Gurudwara, demanding the arrest of the Dera chief.

President of Shri Guru Singh Sabha Sukhvinder Singh Lard said, ''the Dera chief has hurted the emotions of the Sikh community. He cannot be forgiven by expressing regret, therefore he should be arrested.'' Meanwhile, no untoward incident has been reported in the protest.
