PCC minority dept demands action against errant police

Hyderabad, May 22 (UNI) The Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) Minorities Department today demanded that the government should take stern and immediate action against errant police personnel in connection with the police firing on May 18, after Mecca Masjid bomb blast.

The PCC minorities department alleged that the police had opened fire at innocent people without any warnings.

The PCC minorities department today organised a condolence meeting at 'Gandhi Bhavan', under the presidentship of PCC Minorities Department Chairman Mohammed Sirajuddin.

New Delhi, Dec 18: Taking strong exception to the UPA government treating Muslims as a synonym for minorities, the BJP today said attempt to provide separate budget for Muslims would sow the seeds of sectarianism. BJP Parliamentary Party Spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra told newspersons that UGC Chairman Bimal Tharot had submitted a proposal seeking Rs 5040 crore for Muslim education before the Planning Commission. Delhi to host international conference on dalits

Allahabad, Dec 18: An International conference on Dalits and Minorities will be held at Delhi on December 27 and 28 next in which representatives from 40 countries will participate.
