Mettur water level at 74.96 ft

Tiruchirapalli, May 22 (UNI) The water level in the Stanley Reservoir at Mettur across River Cauvery stood at 74.96 ft this morning, as against its capacity of 120 ft.

Public Works Department sources said the inflow into the reservoir was 1,095 cusecs and the discharge was 1,500 cusecs.

Death toll in AP flood increased to 106

Hyderabad, Aug 8: With six more deaths, the toll in the flood fury in Andhra Pradesh rose to 106 today, even as the water level in the swollen Godavari river started receding from their peak levels.Three more deaths were reported from West Godavari, two more from Guntur and one more in Karimnagar, Disaster Management Commissioner Debabratha Kanta said in a release here.Four helicopters and an equal number of naval boats, besides 95 country-boats were pressed into service to.....
