Manmohan's tenure satifactory: Sangma

Ranchi, May 22 (UNI) Expressing concern over rising price in the country, former Lok Sabha Speaker and Nationalist Congress party leader P A Sangma today said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's three-year tenure was satisfactory.

After returning from Daltonganj, Mr Sangma told reporters here that the Prime Minister should be praised for his efforts in developing basic infrastructure and industry, and his foreign policy. However, the government failed to control the price hike which has affected the common man.

Mr Sangma said essential commodities had gone out of range of common man due to rampant hike in prices, adding that the Union government should initiate steps to control it.

Referring to the presidential polls, he said being a coalition partner of the UPA, the party would suport the UPA candidate adding the left parties had proposed the name of Congress leader Pranab Mukherjee but any decision in this regard would be taken by the Congress.
