Lakshit, N Sai maintain winning streak in national tennis series

New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) Top seed Lakshit Sood of Uttar Pradesh and eighth seed N Sai Karthik of Andhra Pradesh maintained their winning streak in the Boy's singles of the National Series Tennis Tournament at the Yamuna Sports Complex at Surajmal Vihar here today.

Lakshit easily beat Raghav Meattal of Delhi 6-0, 6-1 while N Sai defeated B Singh of Delhi 6-3, 6-2 in the tournament organised by Delhi Yamuna Sports Complex Members Forum and Youth Forum on HIV/AIDS.

In another match, tenth seed Delhi's Prateek Bhandari thrashed Priyansh Bhardwaj of UP 6-3, 6-1 to make it to the quarter-finals.

Uttar Pradesh presents surplus budget

Lucknow, Feb 13, (ANI): The Uttar Pradesh Government on Friday presented a surplus budget of Rs. 1,33,596.98 crore for fiscal 2009-10.The budget estimates are 19 percent more than the previous year.The proposed expenditure stands at 1,33,596.98 crore, as against an estimated income of Rs. 1,21,502.96 crore.After taking Rs. 12,215 crore from the public accounts and the previous year's balance of Rs. 1,231.75 crore, the State Government has shown an estimated surplus of Rs. 1,352.73 crore. Umroi, Jan 25 (ANI): Voting has begun for the assembly by-election at Bhadohi reserve segment in Sant Ravidas Nagar in Uttar Pradesh this morning.The polling will decide the fate of sixteen contestants. The main contenders are from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Samajwadi Party (SP), Congress and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).Three hundred sixty five polling booths have been set up for three lakhs forty five thousand voters to cast their votes. One hundred fifty three polling booths have been identified.....

Hoax call causes panic in Uttar Pradesh Assembly
