Jaunpur, May 22 (UNI) A local court today handed down a life sentence on a man for strangling a six-year-old boy here.
According to the prosecution, on September 8, 2005, Anku (6) - son of Rama Shankar Gupta - was garrotted over a dispute in Debeypur village in Rampur area.
Later, an FIR was lodged against Bablu Pasi of the neighbouring Ashapur village.
On the basis of substantial evidence, Additional Sessions Judge, Fast Track Court (II) Israr Ahmed convicted the accused, besides imposing a fine of Rs 10,000.
