Indian electronic market to touch $ 3 billion by 2011

Bangalore, May 22 (UNI) The Indian electronic market is expected to touch USD three billion by 2011, from the present $ 1.3 billion, Avnet India Electronics Marketing Country Head Ramani Sundaresan said today.

Speaking to newspersons here, he said the Avnet Electronics Marketing, one of the world's largest technology marketing, distribution and services companies, enjoyed its domination in India serving variant customers including original equipment manufacturers, electronic manufacturing service providers and small-to-medium sized businesses.

Mr Sundaresan said electronic product marketing in India was one of the fastest growing in the Asia-pacific region, in almost all the segments including telecom, automotive, medicines, semiconductors, passive and electromechanical components.

The Avnet Electronics Marketing had a comprehensive team comprising over 100 employees for management, telemarketing and interconnecting passive and electromechnical components, he added.

Specialized for manufactures without R and D facilities, Avnet Electronics Marketing would also provide full-spectrum of design services and offer essential advice from product development to packaging. When a customer would forecast upcoming market trends, Avnet was able to prepare and supply the electronics components as well as offered the necessary support and billing flexibility, he claimed.

Avnet, partnered with Xilinz and other leading players in the semiconductor industry had rolled out its X-fest global series of technical seminars across Asia and in many cities in India. The seminars held at New Delhi, Pune, Ahmedabad and Mumbai received tremendous response both from manufacturers and wide range of customers.

He said the main objective of the X-fest was to introduce new products and offered practical for FPGA, DSP and embedded system designers. The one-day seminars were designed to offer the attendees several 90-minute courses providing specialised training on design solutions for FPGA circuit and the components surrounding FPGAs.
