India wins lone bronze in Asian Judo championship

Patiala, May 22 (UNI) In the recently-concluded Asian Judo Championship in Kuwait, India managed to win a bronze medal through Tombi Devi (CRPF) in 48 kg category.

Navjot Chana from Punjab Police was unlucky to lose against Donbay Bazarbek from Khazakistan in 60 kg category due to poor refereeing which was later regretted by the Technical Committee, according to J G Sharma, chief coach of the Indian contingent.

Thirty countries participated in the Championship.

The Indian Judokas had failed to win a medal in Doha Asian Games last year-end. In 2004 too, India had won a lone bronze medal in the Asian Judo Championship in Korea through Anita Chanu in 52 kg category.

Mumbai: ONGC, MRPL offer March stems

Singapore, Feb 20:  India's Oil and Natural Gas Corp (ONGC) and its Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) unit have offered to sell early and late-March cargoes of naphtha, according to tender documents seen on Tuesday.ONGC offered a 35,000-tonne cargo from Mumbai loading Feb 28-March 2 or March 2-4. MPRL offered a 30,000-tonne cargo from New Mangalore loading March 23-25.The ONGC tender closes on Feb. 21, while the MRPL tender closes on Feb. 27. Bids should remain.....
