Guruji.com launches Tamil language search

Chennai, May 22: Leading search engine Guruji.com today announced the launch of its Tamil language search, which will make the users search easier and help them to accurte location of their choice.

Talking to newspersons here, company co-founder and CEO Anuraj Dod said "Tamil being the most common launguage in South India, Guruji.com's search would be useful for the users to search their needs easily".

"Around 200 million people speak Tamil in the country and abroad, and the total number of people who can understand Tamil is estimated to be around 400 million", he claimed.

"Today, as more and more regional content is coming into the market, vernacular search is gaining popularity in India", he said, adding "as people are more comfortable speaking their mother tongue, Guruji.com's laungauge search will enhance their search experience in an effective manner".

Mr Anuraj also explained "in every language there are certain words which are not having correct English word to explain the same.

Thereby our search is the only solution for people who need regional specific information".

"The next wave of growth for internet in India will be fuelled by the growth of vernacular content and the way it is accessed by consumers across the country", he said, adding "India is witnessing huge demand for regional specific search and we see a big surge in the southern region, which makes it our focal point".

Centre hikes unit cost of tea replantation in South India

Kochi, Aug 5: In view of the higher labour costs in south India, the Centre has hiked the unit cost of replantation of tea in Tamil Nadu and Kerala by Rs 70,000 per hectare, Union Minister of State for Commerce Jairam Ramesh said. Addressing a press conference here last night, Mr Ramesh said the Centre had decided last week to increase the unit cost for tea replantation in south India from Rs 2.73 lakh per hectare.....
