DIG, DSP relieved from election duties

Panaji, May 22 (UNI) On direceives of the Election Commission, the State Government today relieved Deputy Inspector General of Police (Crime) Ujjwal Mishra and Deputuy Superintendent of Police (Margao) Umesh Gaokar from election duties with immediate effect.

Chief Secretary J P Singh said on receipt of the orders from the CEC, Mr Mishra handed over charge to Director General of Police Mr Brar.

The charge against the two officers was that they were acting in favour of the ruling Congress party. The BJP had complained against them many times earlier.
