Cement company fined for illegal mining

Bhuj, May 22 (UNI) A fine of Rs 8 crore has been levied on Sanghi Cement Industries, located in Abdasa taluka of Kutch district, for illegal mining.

Kutch District Collector Dhananjay Dwivedi issued a notice upon the company, asking it to pay the fine of Rs 8 crore for illegal mining as they had failed to pay the requisite royalty to the government.

Tokyo, Mar 9: Aeon Co, Japan's second-biggest retailer, will spend 62 billion yen (9 million) to buy a 15 percent stake in supermarket chain Daiei Inc and 20 percent of Daiei's grocery subsidiary Maruetsu Inc, the Nikkei business daily reported on Friday.That would be some 55 percent more than the current prices for the stakes which total about 40 billion yen.Aeon, Daiei and trading house Marubeni Corp., which is Daiei's top shareholder, will jointly hold a briefing on capital tie-ups at 4:30.....

ACC Q2 net up 30 pc at Rs 292.42 crores

New Delhi, Oct 18: Country's largest cement producer ACC Ltd today posted a 30.07 per cent jump in net profit at Rs 292.42 crore for the quarter ended September 2007, against Rs 224.81 crore over the same period last year. The company's total income rose by 21.92 per cent at Rs 1707.20 crore for FYQ208 , where as the same was at Rs 1400.26 crore for the same quarter a year ago. UNI.....

ACC divests Machinery to HNG for Rs 45 cr

Mumbai, Mar 11: Cement major ACC Ltd today divested its wholly owned Subsidiary ACC Machinery Company Ltd (AMCL) to HNG Group for Rs 45 crore. The company in a release here said that the Subsidiary recorded a turnover of Rs 63.24 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 with profits after tax being Rs 9.75 crore. UNI.....
