Guwahati, May 22 (UNI) The Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) today showed a united face bringing together almost everyone on board to felicitate their newly elected Rajya Sabha member Kumar Deepak Das.

Despite rumblings of fresh dissension by former general secretary Hiten Goswami, who lost out to Das in a secret vote, he was there too in the felicitation, sending happy tidings for party president Brindabon Goswami.

The AGP today rejoiced the victory after being down and out throughout the first year of sitting in the opposition of Tarun Gogoi's second term. There are fresh squabbling as Mr Hiten Goswami resigned from all the party posts to avenge his humiliation.

Mr Goswami has been considered a think tank of the party close to AGP president Brindabon Goswami. However in the meeting, the AGP leadership hoped that with renewed strength in Parliament, the party would be able to place people of Asom's views and aspiration more forcefully.

The AGP has two Lok Sabha members also--Mr Sarbananda Sonowal and Mr Arun Sarma. They too were present today.
