Airtel launches lifetime prepaid at Rs 495

New Delhi, May 17: Bharti Airtel, leading telecom service provider, today introduced a lifetime prepaid scheme at a price point of Rs 495.

The new plan offers an Airtel user full talk time on all future recharges, using a minimum of Rs 200 every 180 days to continue enjoying lifetime validity benefits.

The prepaid plan will be available to all existing as well as new Airtel mobile users from tomorrow.

Mr Sanjay Kapoor, President, Mobile Services, Bharti Airtel said, ''Our Rs 495 lifetime product marks our strategic intent to drive affordability and consumption in the prepaid category further. Going forward, we will continue to explore innovative products such as these that will enhance our customer's value and significantly contribute towards increasing Airtel's market and revenue share in the future.'' Bharti Airtel has a subscriber base of 40.80 million at the end of April '07, consisting of 38.89 million mobile customers.

Vodafone not to sell Australian business

WELLINGTON/SYDNEY, May 18: British mobile phone giant Vodafone Group on Friday said it had no plans to sell its New Zealand and Australian businesses, following earlier media speculation.
