Ripleys Entertainment to make its foray into India

Bangalore, May 15 (UNI) Ripley Entertainment, a global leader in attractions industry, is all set to foray into India with a pact with the city-based Innovative Film City, Robert E Masterson, President of Ripley, announced here today.

Addressing newspersons here today, he said that for the first time in South East Asia, the Ripleys would have its facility and features three of its best products 'Ripley's Believe it or Not', 'Guiness World Records' and 'Louis Tussad's Wax Museums' in the sprawling Innovative Film City project coming up near the city.

He said that India was naturally the first choice for Ripleys which was looking forward expand its operations to more countries.

"South East Asian Market was a very important market for us and we felt associating with Innovative was the right opportunity to tap Indian Market", he said.

Outlining the features of the three popular attractions of the Ripleys, Mr Masterson said that 'Ripley's Believe it or Not' was the largest, fastest growing, and most successful chain of amusement museum-type attractions in the world.

The Louis Tussauds Wax Museum was first opened at Niagara Falls in Canada and later in Copenhagen in Denmark remained one of the most attended attractions in that part of the world.

The Guiness World Record Museums, a state-of-the-art attractions would present the amazing line-up of feats, facts and records to amuse visitors.

Under the pact Ripleys would lend its concept and design to set up its attractions in its complex at Innovative Film City a huge entertainment campus coming up near Bidadi in Bangalore rural district.

Mr Sarawan Prasad, MD Innovative Film Studios, said that Mr Nitish Roy, the recipient of National award for films, was be the Chief Designer for the joint venture project. The project was expected to be completed by December this year.

The Rs 150-crore first phase of the Innovative Film City project was progressing rapidly. "We are proud to be associated with Ripleys. This tie-up is bound to attract visitors across the country and Innovative Film City expects to have six million visitors every year" he added.

Jaya appeals to Mamata to call off her fast

Chennai, Dec 27: Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and AIADMK Supremo J Jayalalithaa has appealed to Trinamool Congress President Mamata Banerjee to call off her fast, which entered 24th day today. A release from the AIADMK office tonight said, Ms Jayalalithaa had written a letter to Mamata Banerjee appealing her to call off the fast.
