PAC discusses security related expenditure in J

Srinagar, May 15 (UNI) The Public Accounts Committee (PAC) in Jammu and Kashmir reviewed matters pertaining to the Security Related Expenditure (SRE) of the Home department in the light of the CAG report for 2006-07, an official spokesman said today.

He said National Conference legislator Mian Altaf Ahmed chaired the meeting.

The meeting directed the officials of the Home department to take the proceedings of the PAC seriously. It also asked them to provide information sought by the Committee on priority basis.

The spokesman said the PAC could not discuss thoroughly the details provided by the Home department due to late submission and the same would be reviewed in the next meeting on May 24.

The legislators who attended the meeting were Mohammad Sartaj Madni, A R Veeri, Mula Ram, Yogesh Sawhney, Bilal Ahmed Lodhi, Ashok Sharma and Chaman Lal.

Complete 'bandh' hits life in Jammu
