Nodal officer appointed for implementation of central schemes

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) In order to secure and streamline the implementation of centrally sponsored schemes in Punjab, Chief Minister Parkash Singh Badal has appointed a special Nodal Officer in the Chief Minister's office.

The officer, Mr Gurkirat Kirpal Singh, who was appointed as Additional Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, would pursue with the Central Government all proposals of the Punjab Government regarding centrally sponsored schemes, according to an official spokesperson here.

He would also monitor and pursue with different ministries regarding plans submitted by State Government under centrally sponsored schemes. A separate nodal officer is also being appointed in New Delhi to pursue the cases of Punjab Government with different Ministries.

In a separate communication, the Chief Minister issued instruction to the Chief Secretary that all Administrative Secretaries should send copies of all communications to the concerned Union ministry/departments of Government of India to the Principal Resident Commissioner for effective follow up.
