Naxal-run arms manufacturing units busted at Bhopal and Rourkela

New Delhi, May 15 (UNI) Two weapons and ammunition manufacturing units run by Naxalite elements were busted in January at Bhopal in Madhya Pradesh and at Rourkela in Orissa, the Lok Sabha was informed today.

Minister of State for Home Affairs S Regupathy in a written reply said the State and Union Territories Governments are asked from time to time to make sustained and continued efforts to check and bust illegal arms and ammunition.

He said available inputs suggests that illegal arms and ammunition manufacturing units exists is some States, where manufacturing through clandestine cottage level household units takes place.

Chennai, May 14: Police have arrested five people, including the Manager of a private security bureau, for possessing unlicensed guns and ammunition at Nungambakkam in the city. Dhaka, May 10: At least six bandits were shot dead in a battle with police in southern Bangladesh today, police said. Six policemen were also wounded in the three-hour shootout near Barisal town, 300 km (190 miles) south of the capital, Dhaka. JK: Pak infiltrators kill soldier, 165 kg RDX seized

Srinagar, May 9: A group of Pakistani infiltrators killed a soldier and wounded three others near the Line of Control (LoC) while security forces busted two hideouts and recovered a huge cache of arms and ammunition, including deadly 165 kg RDX, in Jammu and Kashmir overnight. An official spokesman said troops guarding the border noticed a group of militants sneaking into this side from Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) at Kamkali Golab post in the frontier district.....
