Haryana spends Rs 1337 cr on roads

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) The Haryana government has spent a sum of Rs 1337 crore for construction of new roads stretching over 205 km.

Also, a total of 9195 km stretch of roads had been repaired, strengthened and carpeted during the last two years, a spokesman for PWD (B&R)department said.

Tenders had been floated for six laning of 63.49 km length of National Highway No 10, he said and added that tenders would also be invited for six-laning of 78.88 km length of National Highway No 10, passing through Hisar.

The four-laning of Gurgaon-Faridabad road on Built Operate and Transfer (BOT) basis was also being considered.

He said with a view to easing congestion of traffic between Faridabad-Delhi, a 6-lane elevated highway would be constructed at a cost of Rs 267.50 crore on National Highway No 2 at Badarpur.

The Government had already accorded its approval for construction of this elevated highway.

He said similarly, 28 km long road between Gurgaon and Delhi on National Highway No 8 was also being constructed at a cost of Rs 555 crore and the work on this road was going on in full swing.
