Guv orders probe in dam project

Mahoba, May 15 (UNI) Uttar Pradesh Governor T V Rajeswar has ordered an inquiry into an alleged scam worth Rs 60 lakh prestigious Arjun Dam Project here.

The Governor, acting on a complaint made by social organisation called Bundelkhand Seva Samiti, has directed the district administration to submit a detailed report in the matter soon.

The Samiti had alleged that funds sanctioned for the project was squandered by corrupt officials, while the work was shown completed on papers, sources said here today.

The latest development has sent the irrigation department officials in a tizzy.
