CM reviews the progress of irrigation projects

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy today reviewed the modernisation and improvements of the entire Tungabhadra canal system, with other Ministers and officials and decided to modernise the entire canal system.

On the induction of Central Industrial Security Force in the Tungabhadra project right bank high level canal and right bank low level canal, the Chief Minister asked the Irrigation Minister to meet the Union Home Minister Shivraj Patil in this regard and get sanction of the CISF without further delay.

On the Sunkesual barrage Dr Reddy decided to complete the project costing about Rs 580 crore by 2008 July.

Regarding Pulichintala project, the Chief Minister asked the officials to complete the construction of power house as early as possible. A committee was appointed to oversee the construction.

India wants to crush PoK: Lashkar chief Saeed
