CBCID seeks custody of Rashid, Bapu Rao in trafficking case

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) The Andhra Pradesh CBCID department today filed a petition in a city court, seeking custody of Rashid, one of the alleged kingpins in the human trafficking case, and TRS MLA S Bapu Rao, another accused in the racket, for further interrogation in connection with the case.

The CBCID counsel filed a petition in this regard before the 12th Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate. The CBCID also asked the court to remand to their custody former city corporator and Telugu Desam Party (TDP) city leader Mujafar Ali, another accused arrested along with Rashid on May 3.

The State Government had transferred Rao's case to the CBCID from the Central Crime Station (CCS), probing the fake passport case in the State, to speed up investigations.

At present, the TRS MLA and Mujafar Ali were in judcial custody, while Rashid was remanded to CCS police custody till May 18.

Sikkim govt to lease out state-owned SITCO

Gangtok, Mar 11: The Sikkim government is contemplating to lease out the ailing state-owned Sikkim Time Corporation Ltd(SITCO) to a private entrepreneur to revive the company.The state Minister for Commerce and Industries R B Subba told sources that a Cabinet Sub-Committee has been constituted and asked to submit a report on the company after assessing all aspects.
