Amarinder seeks HC permission to visit Nepal

Chandigarh, May 15 (UNI) The former Punjab Chief Minister Amarinder Singh has sought permission of the Punjab and Haryana High Court here to visit Nepal from May 17 to 26 in connection with his forthcoming book ''Last Sunset' which centres around the Sik history during the times of Maharaja Ranjit Singh.

Since Rani Jindan, the Queen of Maharaja Ranjit Singh was deported to Nepal where she had stayed for 10 years, he needed to visit the country, Capt Amarinder Singh argued.

He pleaded with the High Court to direct the authorities concerned against his detention at the time of his departure and arrival at the airport.

The red-corner notice issued by the Punjab government in March this year, was yet to be witdrawn even though he had been granted stay against arrest and transit bail, he submitted.

Justice Ranjit Singh has issued notice to Punjab Government for tomorrow in this regard.

India wants to crush PoK: Lashkar chief Saeed

Muzaffarabad, Dec.8 (ANI): The chief of the Jamaat-ud-Dawa, the political wing of the banned militant organization, Lashkar-e-Toiba, Hafiz Muhammad Saeed has accused India of wanting to destroy Pakistan-controlled Kashmir.Saeed told Geo News that the ongoing operation in Pakistan Kashmir was under Indian pressure, and this was unwarranted.Saeed further said that the targeting of Kashmiri organizations without any proof was an expression of weakness.Earlier, wanted Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) commander, Zakiur Rehman Lakhwi was reportedly arrested by Pakistani army personnel.....
