ACB sleuths catch another big fish

Hyderabad, May 15 (UNI) Within days of apprehending the town planner of Kukatpalli municipality and unearthing cash, gold and properties worth several crore, sleuths of the Anti Corruption Bureau (ACB) arrested assistant controller legal metrology Toda Surya Prakash for possessing assets disproportionate to his known sources of income.

During the simultaneous searches in the office of Surya Prakash, and the residence of his relative at warangal, officials of the ACB recovered assets worth over Rs 46 lakhs.

An official release said the assets included four plots - three in Warangal and one at Aushapor village in Nalgonda district.

They also found that the officials owned a flat in the Habsiguda area of the city, a commercial shop at Hanamkonda (Warangal district) and three houses in Warangal. They also found Rs 3.75 lakhs in cash, Rs 2.3 lakhs in fixed deposites and household articles worth Rs 1.5 lakhs.

The official had given loans to friends and relatives worth Rs 4 lakhs and had gold worth Rs 1 lakh. One bank locker at Indian Bank, Hanamkonda was yet to be opened, the release said.

The accused was arrested and produced before the Additional Special Judge for SPE and ACB cases, Hyderabad.
