Sangrur, May 15 (UNI) Six activists of the 'Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj' were arrested for attempting to burn the effigy of Dera Sacha Sauda head Baba Gurmit Ram Rahim Singh, leading to a clash with the followers of the sect at Bahadurpur village in the district, police said today.
The Dera 'premis' (followers) challenged the 'Ek Noor Khalsa Fauj' activists when they were about to burn the effigy yesterday, leading to a clash, DSP (Rural) Pritpal Singh Thind said.
A case was registered against the six activists today on the basis of a complaint by dera premi Avtar Singh who was injured in the clash.
Those arrested were identified as Jaswant Singh, Attar Singh, Yodh Singh, Kuljeet Singh, Nayab Singh and Gurjeet Singh. A case under Sections 295, 324, 148 and 149 was filed against them.
