Eluru, Andhra Pradesh, May 15 (UNI) Twenty five thatched houses were gutted in a major fire which broke out at Bhimavaram town in West Godavari district this afternoon.
According to official source, fire broke out from a house situated on the left side bund of Yenamadurru drain in D N R College road in Bhimavaram town around 1530 hrs. The flames billowed and engulfed the adjacent houses immediately.
Fire tenders were rushed to the spot. No causalities or injuries were reported in the mishap.
The municipal authorities provided four water tankers to douse the flames.
The cause of fire was yet to be ascertained, the officials said, adding about 60 families were rendered homeless.
