Senior CIS officer dead

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Sanjay Raut, a senior Central Information Service officer, died at Cuttack in Orissa last night due to heart failure.

Mr Raut(47) is survived by wife and a daughter, officials here said.

He was posted in the Orissa capital since the last eight months.

Dhaka, May 10: At least six bandits were shot dead in a battle with police in southern Bangladesh today, police said. Six policemen were also wounded in the three-hour shootout near Barisal town, 300 km (190 miles) south of the capital, Dhaka.
