SC allows bail petition of Uphaar employee

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) The Supreme Court today allowed the petition filed by a dismissed court employee challenging Delhi High Court order cancelling his bail.

The state of Delhi has moved the High Court seeking cancellation of bail granted to him .

The petitioner Dinesh Chandra Sharma is facing allegations of removing some important papers from the case file of Uphaar fire tragedy case in order to favour Ansals during his tenure as Court's record keeper.

A bench comprising Chief Justice K G Balakrishnan and Justices R V Raveendran and Lokeshwar Singh Panta allowed the appeal of Dinesh Chandra Sharma, who has since been dismissed from service challenging the order of Delhi High Court cancelling his bail and restored the court order dated December 4, 2006 vide which he was granted bail.

Around 60 people were charred to death in a fire in Uphaar theatre in Greenpark as fire safety measures were found virtually nonexisting and the cinegoers including women and children were suffocated to death following a stampede in the theatre.

Six more Pak ICL players allowed to play domestic cricket
