Old couple, servant found murdered

Chandigarh, May 14 (UNI) An elderly couple and their servant were found murdered at their house in Kanjheri village on the outskirts of the city this morning.

The bodies of Sucha Singh (72), his wife Balbir Kaur (70) and servant Chhotu Ram (32) were found at their residence in the wee hours of today, SHO Iswar Singh Mann said.

The trio seemed to have been strangulated by someone, he said and added that dacoity could be the motive behind the murder as various goods in the house were found scattered.

The bodies were sent to the General Hospital for post mortem while police had started investigations.

The old couple lived in the village while their offspring lived abroad.

London, Dec 8 (ANI): A collection of letters and manuscripts that illuminate the life and work of celebrated writer Oscar Wilde, apparently lost for more than 50 years, have been found by academics.The volume contains 50 handwritten pages, including Wilde's earliest surviving letter to his lover Lord Alfred Douglas, whom he called Bosie, which documents the start of his doomed gay relationship with the Magdalen College undergraduate in the early 1890s, reports the Independent.Douglas destroyed most of the letters.....

Six new obesity genes found in brain

Washington, Jan 9 (ANI): An international team of scientists has identified six new obesity genes that are active in brain cells.In addition to the FTO and MC4R genes already known, it was now possible for six more obesity genes to be identified: TMEM18, KCTD15, GNPDA2, SH2B1, MTCH2, and NEGR1.The gene expression analyses have shown that all six genes are active in brain cells.In the study involving 59,000 participants conducted by GIANT consortium, the German researchers believe that.....
