JPP to oppose Congress' move for President's Rrule in J'khand

Jamshedpur, May 14 (UNI) The Jharkhand People's Party (JPP) today charged the Congress with ''conspiring'' to impose President's Rule in Jharkhand, saying it would oppose such a move.

Talking to reporters here, JPP president Mukesh Baba said the Congress was fast losing its base in the Hindi-speaking belt and its position was deteriorating after the debacle in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly election.

Mr Baba alleged that the Congress was hatching a conspiracy to impose Central rule in the state to gain political advantage in the next Assembly poll in Jharkhand.

He said the Congress was repenting for not imposing President's Rule in UP and the party was seriously planning to dismiss the Madhu Koda-led UPA government.

He said instead of imposing President's Rule, the UPA should replace a ''puppet'' Chief Minister like Mr Koda.

Mr Baba was also concerned over the exodus of adivasis from Jharkand and stated that more than three lakh adivasi women and children had deserted the state and they were being exploited in the big cities of other states.

He advocated that instead of blaming each other, the political parties should act promptly.

Mr Baba said the JPP would form an alliance with the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) of Mr Sharad Pawar for the coming election in Jharkhand and initiated talks with NCP MLA and State Minister Kamlesh Singh.

The JPP leader also said the party had taken the initiative to form a Third Front with other like-minded parties in the state and a meeting in this regard was held in Ranchi recently.
