JK Cement Q4 net zooms 274 pc

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Country's leading cement player JK Cement today posted a whopping 274 per cent increase in net profit to Rs 61.40 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 31, 2007 as against Rs 16.40 crore for the corresponding quarter last year.

The net turnover of the company increased by 49 per cent to Rs 366.6 crore for Q4FY07, compared to Rs 245.90 crore for the same quarter last fiscal.

The country's second largest white cement producer's net profit for the current fiscal sweeped 448 per cent to Rs 178.60 crore as compared to Rs 32.60 crore for the year ended March 31, 2006.

The net turnover increased by 41 per cent to Rs 1,233.30 crore for FY07 against Rs 873.70 crore for the same period last year.

The cement producer has two grey cement plants at Nimbahera and Mangrol with an installed capacity of four million tonnes.

The work on the new greenfield cement plant at Karnataka has also been initiated and will be commissioned by March 2009.

ACC divests Machinery to HNG for Rs 45 cr

Mumbai, Mar 11: Cement major ACC Ltd today divested its wholly owned Subsidiary ACC Machinery Company Ltd (AMCL) to HNG Group for Rs 45 crore. The company in a release here said that the Subsidiary recorded a turnover of Rs 63.24 crore for the year ended December 31, 2007 with profits after tax being Rs 9.75 crore. UNI.....
