Infosys allies with TV 18 to provide content

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) To provide a range of services to the digital media and entertainment companies worldwide, Infosys BPO Ltd today allied with the media group TV 18.

Called Source 18, the new entity will offer services in digital media including digital archiving and metatagging, repurposing content, ideation, re-editing, quality control and media process outsourcing which includes promo production, traffic management, uplinking and inventory management.

''With the global media and entertainment industry growing to almost two trillion dollars by 2008 and proliferation of content in multiple formats across media platforms, there is a sizeable business opportunity emerging in the media outsourcing market.'' said Infosys BPO Ltd CEO and MD Amitabh Chaudhry.

Source 18 will utilise the services of Tangerine Digital Entertainment, a company specialising in content repurposing and media process outsourcing, for part execution of the contracts.

The new entity will be launched to redefine media outsourcing services around the globe signing up National Geographic as partner TV 18 Group for repurposing their archived and current content for the mobile platform, Mr Chaudhary said.

Infosys BPO will provide technological support while TV 18, on the other hand, would bring in domain knowledge and expertise to the alliance.

TV 18 Group CEO Haresh Chawla said, ''Major content owners globally are focusing on creating strong content after-markets and generate revenue through multiple platform delivery. This will allow broadcasters and content owners significant incremental revenue upside and reduced costs.'' UNI

Canon to invest Rs 100 cr for marketing

New Delhi, Apr 13: In an attempt to capture a major market share Canon India Pvt, a 100 per cent subsidiary of Canon Singapore Pte Ltd, said it will invest Rs 100 crore on its marketing and advertising initiative this year.
