Govt to make statement about Maran's resignation in Par. tomorrow

New Delhi, May 14 (UNI) Parliamentary Affairs Minister Priya Ranjan Dasmunsi today said that the Government may make a statement in Parliament tomorrow clarifying situation regarding Communication Minister Dayanidhi Maran's resignation from the Union Cabinet.

Mr Dasmunsi said that the Prime Minister has recieved Mr Maran's resignation. However, due to disruptions, the government could not clarify the situation in Parliament today, he said and added that a clarification would be made tomorrow in the house.

Asked if Mr Maran himself would make a statement in Parliament, he said that according to the existing provisions, outgoing the Minister could make a statement in the Lok Sabha explaining the ground on which he was resigning, if he so deserved.

However, this was not the case this time as the minister has given no grounds for resigning, Mr Das Munsi said.
