Govt ignoring principles of good governance: JD(U)

Bangalore, May 14 (UNI) Janata Dal (United) today alleged that the JD(S)-BJP coalition government headed by Karnataka Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy was ignoring the principles of good governance causing misery to farmers, Dalits and poor people.

In a letter to Governor T N Chaturvedi, copy of which was released to the press here, JD(U) Karnataka unit President B Somashekhar alleged that the government had been auctioning the government land freed from encroachers in and around Bangalore in a shady manner.

''If the intentions of the government are good, it would have devised a scheme for the distribution of acquired lands keeping in mind the goals of social justice'', he said.

He alleged that the government was also selling away lands it had acquired from landless poor, who were doing 'Bagur Hukum' cultivation or built houses on government lands.

Mr Somashekhar urged the Governor to intervene and direct the government stop further auction of acquired land and order a CBI inquiry into the auctions held till the date.

He also alleged that the government had started acquiring agriculture land near Bidadi for integrated township project against the wishes of the farmers.
