Former Chief Minister all praise for YSR

Hyderabad, May 14 (UNI) Praising Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy, former Chief Minister and Congress leader N Janardhana Reddy today said the state was witnessing unprecedented development under his rule.

Addressing the party's re-dedication programme on the occasion of the government completing three years in office, Mr Reddy said the state was witnessing rapid development.

Giving an example, he said the Chief Minister had given him the responsibility of supervising the laying down of a textile industry being developed by South Indian Manufacturers Industries in a small village known as Chintavaram. The government had acquired 900 acres for the industry which would give employment to 41,000 people, most of whom were women, in the first phase itself.

Stating that there was no need for education to get a job in the industry to get a salary of Rs 3,000 to 4,000, he said the project would change the very complexion of the small village.

He, however, lamented that despite the rapid development, there was no publicity. The state's exports had touched unprecedented heights, six universities and three medical colleges had come into being and no one knew about these developments.

The former Chief Minister said dispelling the darkness that prevailed during the TDP rule, the YSR government was fulfilling all its election promises and the Chief Minister had proved that he was capable of doing it.
