Dismiss JD(S)-BJP coalition govt: Congress

Bangalore, May 14 (UNI) The Opposition Congress party in Karnataka today submitted a 15 point chargesheet to Governor T N Chaturvedi against JD(S)-BJP coalition government in the State and sought its dismissal under Article 356 of the Constitution.

Speaking to newspersons here, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge said in the Chargesheet the Governor was appraised about the failure of government in all fronts, including tackling the drought situation, unemployment, shortage of drinking water, non-distribution of PDS cards and postponement of elections to Urban and Local bodies.

He said, the State was targeting the bureaucrats for its misrule and brought to the notice of the Governor a recent incident in which Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy instigated agitating employees of the Karnataka State Open University (KSOU) to take law in their hands.

Opposition leader in Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh said, the Congress also appealed to the Governor to take note of the State government's failure in implementing various Central Government schemes, including Employment Guarantee Scheme and Drought relief works.

The State had failed to utilise the central funds released for various welfare schemes for the poor, he said.

Opposition leader in the Legislative Council H K Patil, citing the incident of KSOU, alleged that Mr Kumaraswamy, it seems was propagating the Goonda culture in running the administration.

Earlier, the KPCC a huge rally was taken out from the Congress Office to Rajbhavan participated by large number of leaders and workers.

Mr Kharge announced that agitation would continue until the dismissal of the government.

Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Mr Sidharamaiah charged the present government with making false promises and emptying the Exchequer.

''The government, which came to power through backdoor was one of the most corrupt the State had witnessed,'' he alleged.

Prachanda says Nepali Congress reluctant to promote politics of consensus
