Bangalore, May 14 (UNI) Opposition Congress in Karnataka today filed a 15 point chargsheet with Governor T N Chaturvedi against JD(S)-BJP coalition government in the State and demanded the government dismissal under Article 356.
Speaking to newsmen here, Pradesh Congress Committee (PCC) President Mallikarjun Kharge said that the Governor was appraised about failure of the State government in all front including in tackling drought situation, unemployment, shortage drinking water, non-distribution of PDS cards and postponement of elections to Urban and Local bodies.
He said that the state government has indulged in targetting the bureaucrats for its misrule and brought to the notice of the Governor a recent incident in which Chief Minister H D Kumaraswamy instigated agitating employees of the Karnataka State Open University to take law into their hands.
Opposition Leader in the Legislative Assembly N Dharam Singh said that the Congress also appealed to the Governor to take note of the state government's failure in implementing various Central Government schemes including Employment Guarantee Scheme and Drought relief works. The State government has failed to utilise even the central funds released for various welfare schemes for the poor and downtrodden.
Opposition leader in the Legislative Council H K Patil, citing the incident of KSOU, alleged that Mr Kumaraswamy seems to have propagating the Goonda culture in running the administration.
The KPCC earlier took out a huge rally from Congress Office to Rajbhavan with large number leaders and workers participating.
Mr Kharge announced that agitation would continue until the dismissal of JD(S)-BJP government in the state.
Former Karnataka Deputy Chief Minister and Congress leader Mr Sidharamaiah alleged that the present coalition government was indulged in making false promises and bleeding the exchequer. "The government, which came to power through backdoor was one of the most corrupt the state had witnessed," he alleged.
