Braille book in Sindhi on Sant Tukaram released

Pune, May 14 (UNI) Ahmednagar-based Sindhi translator, Lachman Hardwani has brought out the first book in Sindhi Braille on Sant Tukaram, a poet saint from Maharashtra.

Mr Hardwani, inspired by Sant Tukaram's biography and his 'abhangs' (Marathi hymns in praise of the lord), has brought out the book with the assistance of braille publisher Saroja Tole, Dilip Dhonde, a researcher on Tukaram, told UNI.

''Efforts are on to bring out the translation in Marathi, Kannada and Bengali in Braille. We have approached sponsors like a nationalised bank for funding the publishing of the saint's books for 80 blind schools in the state. The cost per book is Rs 200 only,'' he said.
